Never heard of it? Neither had I until last week, when my friends and I toodled over to the Eastside for some of their infamously delicious pizza. And our minds were blown.
This is the Cheese Louise - cheddar, ricotta, parmesan, mozzarella, smoked gouda, red onion & bacon. Mouth watering, no? We decided to double-dip and order a pie designed half 'So-Cal' and half 'The Cuban.' Our pizza came out adorned with avocado, peppers, dijon mustard, honey-baked ham, pulled pork, goat cheese, and loads more toppings that were just beautiful. I meant to take a picture but I didn't because I was stuffing my face.
This sweet couple sat at the bar with their Cajon pizza, topped withshrimp, cheesy etouffee sauce from Papa Roux (eastside fave @ 10th & post), green pepper, tomato. They don't just 'get pizza' on a whim when they don't feel like cooking, she told me. "Jockamo's is real food!" This was a nice dinner (oops, sorry to intrude on date night you guys). When they have family or friends to feed, they zip down the street to Jockamo's without a second thought- they have anything you could be in the mood for! Mexican, Italian, seafood, thai, breakfast pizzas, vegetarian pizza...spicey, cheesey, meaty, crazy- you can order your pie made with steak sauce or homemade salsa! Oh baby.
This toasty little pizza nook in Eastside went from infamous to legendary in my mind.

They let me peek back into the kitchen where the magic happens. This dude was serving up sizzling pizzas one after another, out of the big ovens and into their toasty carry-out boxes, transforming them into deliverable vessels of happiness and deliciousness. Some lucky people were about to have their doorbell rung.
Luckily, we didn't need to wait for the delivery boy.
Until next time, Jockamo's! I'll be back for more!
